Nine Months

Dear Cooper,

Last Monday you turned nine months old. MMMMMWWWWWWA!

Well, kiddo, it’s getting harder and harder for me to take pictures of you. You’re just too darn fast! Long gone are the days that you do something cute and I have time to run and get the camera and still be able to capture the cuteness. These days, by the time I get the camera, you’ve made it into a different room and are totally into something else.

Toys, who cares about toys? All you want to do is cruise around the furniture and get into things that you’re not supposed to get into. You are definitely keeping Momma busy chasing after you!
This month started off pretty slow, with not much going on, but that doesn’t always last long in the Mery house. You had a date with Bella at Babytime at the library. You enjoyed singing songs and listening to the books being read, but by the time the toys came out, you were ready to go.

We traveled to Houston to meet baby Ashdin, but we didn’t get any pictures because he slept the whole time we were there. You got to see your Uncle Robert and Aunt Becky again. The day we got home, your Grandma and Grandpa Mery spent the night on their way home from Odessa.

We were finally able to have another play date with your November friends, Bella and Phoenix. Noah got sick and wasn’t able to make it. It was kind of hard to find the right time to get together because everyone is on different nap schedules. The play date didn’t last long and you didn’t seem to care about the other babies. You just wanted to crawl all over the place and get into things. I didn’t really get a chance to talk much to the other moms because I was chasing after you. Hopefully, the next time we get together, you will be more sociable and actually play with everyone.

We traveled to Arlington the next weekend to help Uncle Todd move back home before going back to Texas Tech and to help Grandma and Grandpa Niswonger celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the camera to dinner, but I got some cute pics of you at their house. You had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and playing the piano. Grandma was in hog heaven when you let her rock you to sleep.

At your 9 month well check, you weighed in at 23.5 pounds (85%), measured 30 inches long (93%) and your head circumference was off the charts (sorry, that’s all Momma’s fault). You have four teeth, although they aren’t coming in the normal order. You have three on bottom and one on top. Dr. Spencer said it was odd, but nothing to worry about. We’re still working on finding the correct allergy medicine; although, Dr. Spencer said it may be your adenoids, so we’ll see what happens with that. It doesn’t seem to bother you, but I’ll be glad when the congestion and the cough dry up. Dr. Spencer is very impressed with the fact that you are hitting your milestones early for being such a big baby. You’ll probably be walking in the next month or two.

You now throw tantrums when you don’t get your way. They are fairly mild, but you get your point across that you are not happy. You like to make funny faces, especially the pucker up/fish face. You love to explore new things and are very persistent (your Daddy says stubborn), if you’re not done looking at something, you’ll keep at it until you’re ready to let it go. Your little personality is definitely shining through.
