Fourteen Months

Dear Cooper,

Yesterday you turned fourteen months old.  You are now more toddler and less baby.

This month started out with traveling to Grandma and Papa Choo-Choo’s for Christmas.  We spent Christmas Eve at Great-Grandma and Grandpa Kurtz’s house where we opened lots of presents.  I think you had more fun sitting on the presents then actually opening them.  Then Santa Claus came and we opened more presents Christmas morning at Grandma and Papa Choo-Choo’s house.  A few days later we went back to Great-Grandma and Grandpa Kurtz’s house for a second Christmas with Great Uncle Joe and Aunt Dar and cousins Bryan and Tonya and their kids: Bryton, Mackenzie and Samantha.

Grandma and Grandpa Mery came to have Christmas with us on New Year’s Eve.

You’re getting so big and you want to do everything by yourself.  Very rarely will you let me feed you; you have to do it yourself.  You are also getting pretty picky about your food.  It’s getting hard for me to find stuff you like that you can feed yourself and won’t make a total mess of everything.  However, if I’m eating something, you will take a few bites from me.

You’re not just walking anymore, but trying to run everywhere.  You still get a little ahead of yourself and fall, but you get right back up and try again.

Your Great-Grandma and Grandpa Kurtz got you a slide for Christmas and you are turning into quite the climber.  You play on it every day and are finally learning how to go down the slide on your bottom.  You think it is the funniest thing in the world.

You have learned a few more words, although they tend to come and go.  Daddy, stinky (tee-ky), down (dow), hot, fishy (tishy), hi, and you blessed me with Mama for the very first time, just yesterday.  You looked up at me, put your hands in the air so I would pick you up and said Mama.  I completely melted.  I can’t wait until you say it again.
